Learn From The Fig Tree: Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods ended a 5 year wait for a trophy when he won his 80th title yesterday. Despite his failed marriage, 4 back surgeries, his drunk driving charges, his own admission that he may never win again, falling to 1199 rank, becoming a case study of how fortunes change...he did win. The surprise for me was everybody cheered him on when it emerged he was on course to win. Just goes to show people will celebrate your success and castigate you when you fall from grace. Never trust the praise of men. They swing as the pendulum. Well done Tiger. You showed the tiger in you. You fought against all odds to get back to winning ways despite many many false starts. Tiger remains an enigma in the world of sport.

Lesson number two: When the dust settled from the scandals, the charges, and everything else, he said, " I just want my life back". He was focused and avoided all distractions and kept working hard to do what he loves. Today he is a winner. We must cast aside every weight and sin that so easily besets us and run with patience the race that is set before us!! It is a principle that works 'irregardless' of your status. Stay focused and you will win in this life!
